Specs:

  • percentage used: 3%
  • 18 day steep
  • PG/VG ratio: 50/50
  • vaped on NarDA rda, A1 Kanthal, 24 gauge, spaced coil, 0.74 ohm, 12-18 watts

Flavor Properties:

  • bright
  • light
  • citrus-y
  • slightly sweet
  • medium dryness

Relatable Flavors:

  • mostly citrus notes (like a ripe tangerine but don't get confused, this is not an "orange" flavor, very much still a tobacco)
  • anise on the tail end of the exhale (not a candied black liquorice type, more like Sambuca)
  • grassy Virginia tobacco in the base notes, not strong but ever present

Mouth Feel:

  • light density

Off Flavors:

  • none

Position In A Recipe:

  • personally, I would use this low in the mix to brighten up a leafy base
  • most common application would probably be as a top dressing in pipe tobacco blends

Suggested Percentage:

  • 1-2% for background
  • if you want this in the front, 3-6%

Pairings:

  • dark tobaccos like FLV Red Burley, INW Dark For Pipe, etc
  • would pair well with FLV Native Tobacco or Kentucky if you want to strengthen the spicy notes in those two

Conclusion:

  • This is an aromatic pipe tobacco flavoring. Aromatic tobaccos have what's called "toppings" such as cherry, vanilla, citrus, etc.
  • Use this accordingly to make a medium bodied pipe blend.
  • Not much more to say, if this was a main note in a mix, I would enjoy puffing it for a few hours a day but it's not an adv ingredient for me. However, mixed at very low % in a leafy blend, this could add a bit of character and give some interesting personality to the recipe. I'll definitely be toying with this one.
